Worship Team

WORSHIP GROUP
“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever” Psalm 136
We come together each week to express our thanks to the Lord using various
methods of worship – in song, music, reading, speaking and hearing God’s Word
delivered through His servants.
As the music ministry team in the 9.30am Sunday service, we aim to lead our
fellowship in praising God with all that He has given us. We are thankful to have a
new keyboard this year which was much needed, and during this coming year we
hope to raise some funds to replace old and damaged musical instruments.
Last year, our choir numbers started to increase and we now have a good team of
band members to draw upon. Our team of young (and “feel young”) members
work very hard during the year, and particularly our band who are in Church for
8.30am most Sunday mornings. I want to acknowledge our younger members
especially for their commitment, as the pressures of school, teams etc are huge –
isn’t it fantastic to have so many young people fired up to praise God each Sunday
morning!
I would also thank the team on sound and data projection for all that they do to help
make our praise more accessible.
We introduced some great new songs last summer from Christian musicians such
as Paul Baloche, Chris Tomlin and Tim Hughes, finding new words and music to
enrich the praise we offer to our God. We continue to seek out new pieces and
develop older pieces which will inspire, instruct and equip us as a fellowship in our
Worship.
Our praise offerings at the Candlelight Service this year included a new piece, “We
worship Jesus, the Newborn King” by Toby Baxley, and an arrangement of “Joy to
the World” by Chris Tomlin. We were delighted to have our soloist Vicki McConaghy
back with us from University and to have Alexandra McKeown joining her in duets
for her first Candlelight.
My thanks as always to Stephen and John for their continued support, guidance and
ministry to both myself personally and to our whole team.
Sing God a brand-new song!
Earth and everyone in it, sing!
Sing to God – worship God!”

Verse of the Day

James 3:17-18
“But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.”
