1994 – 2001
Associate Minister
In 1994 the Session, after reviewing the life and work of the church, decided to assist the minister with an Associate Minister, under a new scheme just introduced by the General Assembly. Ballywillan was the first congregation outside Belfast itself, to seek to appoint an Associate under this scheme, and issued a call to the Rev Andrew Smith, a student for the ministry in the Presbyterian Church in America . Mr Smith had studied in Gordon Conwell College in America and was installed in Ballywillan in 1994. For the next 7 years, he and his wife Tara, and their children Fiona and Duncan, shared in the life and ministry until after Mr Frazer retired in 2000. Andrew Smith received a call to Dun Laoghaire Congregation in 2001

Verse of the Day
“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”
